On 30 April, the second lecture of 120th anniversary of the university lecture series was held successfully in CHL. Famous folklore research expert and vice chairman of Chinese Mythology Society, Professor Chen Jianxian of Central China Normal University, gave a special lecture entitled "Seeing the Community of Human Destiny from mythology". Dean of CHL Li Yongfu attended the activity. Teachers' representatives, all counselors and student representatives participated in theactivity. The lecture was presided over by Li Wei, deputy director of the Department ofChineseinternational education.

Professor Chen explained how to "see the community of shared future for mankind from the perspective of myth" from five aspects: the myth of human life and death, the past and present of flood myth, why human beings are destroyed, who can become the survivors, and there is only one earth for mankind. Finally, Professor Chen explains the modern significance of myth from the grand perspective of a community with a shared future for mankind. The lecture was lively, interesting and thought-provoking,atthe end of the lecture, many questions were raised, and Professor Chen answered them warmly, and gave students advice on study, work and life from the perspective of myth. The wisdom of mankind is embodied in centuries of myth, As Campbell said in The Power of Myth, "Myth is a universal dream, and dreams are private myths," Myth is the embodiment of national spirit and collective creation. How to better inheritthisprecious spiritual wealth and innovate on this basis is what young college students should think about.
